Who you're dealing with

Bockenstette is run by Luke Bockenstette out of Austin, Texas. The business behind it is Uncommon Ventures LLC, which is the name that shows up on your card statement. Same person, same company, two names.

What you're buying

Everything sold here is digital. Nothing ships. You get access right after your payment goes through, on the page you land on and by email.

Buying gets you a personal license. Use it for your own work, including client work you’re doing yourself. What you can’t do is resell it, republish it, hand out copies, or feed the whole thing into a tool that spits it back out as someone else’s product.

Refunds

30 days, full refund, no questions.Reply to your Stripe receipt within 30 days and say refund, or email me directly. You don’t owe me a reason and I’m not going to argue with you about it.

You keep whatever you made.Anything you built or wrote along the way is yours and stays on your machine. I couldn’t take it back if I wanted to.

After 30 days, no refunds. The whole thing is delivered up front, so by then you’ve had it long enough to know.

If a purchase never actually reached you, that’s not a refund question, that’s a broken thing on my end. Email me and I’ll fix it.

The free stuff

The tools and guides in the Workshop are free and stay free. Use them for anything, including commercial work. Same one rule as above: don’t repackage them and sell them as yours.

Free means free, so it also comes with no promises. If a tool breaks or disappears, that’s the deal.

What's mine

The writing, the art, the characters, the music, the whole universe and everyone in it stays mine. Buying a guide doesn’t buy the world it came from.

Quote it, screenshot it, and share it. Credit me and link back. That’s all I ask.

Emails

Give me your email and I’ll send you the newsletter and whatever you signed up for. Every email has an unsubscribe link. Use it any time and nothing else changes about what you already bought.

What I'm not promising

The guides are what worked for me, written down honestly. They are not a guarantee that anything specific will happen for you. Nobody can promise you that, and anyone who does is selling something worse than a guide.

The site is offered as it is. I’m one person. Things break sometimes and I fix them when I find them.

If something here somehow costs you money or time, what I owe you is capped at what you paid me. If that was nothing, then nothing. This is the normal line every business draws, and I’d rather say it plainly than bury it in capital letters.

If these change

I’ll update the date at the top. Whatever these said on the day you bought something is what applies to that purchase.

The boring jurisdiction line

Texas law governs all of this, and any dispute gets handled in Texas.
