Privacy Policy

What I collect

Your email address and first name, but only if you type them into a form. That happens when you join the Shindig, unlock a free guide, or send a message through the contact page.

How you got here, saved next to your email when you join. That’s the site that sent you, the page you landed on, and which form you filled out. It tells me which of these doors people actually use. It says nothing about who you are, and it never leaves this site.

Payment information, if you buy something. I never see your card. Stripe handles the entire payment and only tells me that a purchase happened and which email made it.

A note in your browser that remembers you joined, so the free guides stay unlocked when you come back. It lives on your device, not on a server, and clearing your browser data erases it.

Visitor numbers

I use Vercel Analytics to count visits. It tells me how many people landed on a page, what site they came from, roughly what country they’re in, and whether they were on a phone or a computer.

It does that without cookies and without building a profile of you. It cannot tell one visitor from another across days, and it cannot follow you to any other website. I see totals, not people.

What I don't do

No advertising pixels. No Google Analytics. No Facebook tracking. No session recording. Nothing that follows you off this site, and nothing that tries to work out who you are.

Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. California law says I have to tell you how this site responds to it, so: it makes no difference here. The only measurement running is a cookieless count of pageviews, which never identifies you and never leaves this site.

Who else touches your information

Three companies, each doing one job:

Loops stores your email address and sends the newsletter.

Stripe processes payments and stores your billing details.

Vercel hosts the site, keeps standard server logs like any web host, and runs the cookieless pageview count described above.

Each has their own privacy policy covering what they do with it. I never sell, rent, or trade your information to anybody.

What you can ask me to do

Stop emailing you. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, and it works immediately.

Delete everything I have on you.Email me and I’ll do it. Purchase records have to stay for tax and accounting reasons, but everything else goes.

Tell you what I have.Ask and I’ll send you whatever is on file. For most people that’s an email address, a first name, how far along the Shindig you are, and which door you came in through.

Kids

This site is not for anyone under 13, and I don’t knowingly collect anything from them. If that happened by accident, email me and it’s gone.

If this changes

I’ll update the date at the top. If something meaningful changes and you’re on the list, I’ll tell you in an email instead of quietly editing this page.
