Fraunces on black is one of the most distinctive typographic moves in the catalog — optical, soft, and completely confident. Newsreader at 1.71 line-height is genuinely comfortable for long reads in dark mode. Pure white borders on black create a grid system with zero ambiguity. Ghost surface cards at 40% opacity add depth without destroying the black atmosphere. 2px border width signals editorial weight and serious attention to craft.

Light-mode primary products — this is a committed dark experience, not a dark mode option. E-commerce where product photography needs color context. Accessibility-sensitive contexts where pure black/white contrast needs softening.

Black and white with no softening. Pure black background, pure white text and borders. The refusal to use dark gray instead of black is the design decision. Gray says uncertain. Black says finished. The blue accent is the only color in the system — a deliberate interruption of the monochrome world, reserved for interactive elements that require color to signal action.

Fraunces with tight letter-spacing is on pure black creates a quality like typeset galleys — every letter pressed in, accountable. Newsreader at generous line-height is one of the most readable configurations for extended dark-mode text in the catalog. Both are serifs. The system has a single typographic voice with two registers: display and reading.

Heavy shadows on a black background exist to be felt rather than seen. They create perceptible lift on the white surface cards that sit on top of the black. The cards press and float simultaneously. The 2px border weight is the key detail: on pure black, thicker borders read as editorial commitment.
