Hard 2px offset shadows create illustration energy that stands out from soft-shadow defaults. Black sections used as surface color creates dramatic contrast shifts. Bricolage Grotesque at 500 weight for everything. One font, two weights, maximum expression. Bricolage Grotesque has a slightly irregular character — different stroke widths, subtle quirks — that reads as hand-built rather than system-generated. At a 1.8 type scale and 20px base, the headings get imposing quickly. That is a poster headline, not a webpage.
The 1.2 line-height is tight, compressing display text into visual blocks rather than readable columns. This is optimized for short, loud, irreverent statements — the kind that Oatly's brand voice has made famous.
That is all the palette you need.
The hard offset shadows and pill shapes create a tactile illustrated quality that brand designers recognize immediately as deliberate.
Sundrop's physical language.
Pill shapes everywhere (9999px radius) combined with hard 2px offset black shadows. The contrast between very round and very flat is the whole shape story. The buttons are entirely round. The shadows are entirely flat — no blur radius, just an x and y offset, like a stamp pressed against paper. This is an illustration-derived aesthetic being applied to a digital interface, and it works because the brand has the voice to pull it off.
