Lexend was designed by researchers studying reading proficiency. The letter spacing, character width, and stroke consistency are all optimized for cognitive processing. At weight 600, it creates headings that your brain reads faster than it reads most fonts. That's not a design choice. That's science.
Cabin for body text is warm and humanist without being decorative. The slightly rounded letterforms feel handwritten enough to be personal, clean enough to get out of the way. For a writing app, the body font is the most important design decision. You stare at it for hours. Cabin is comfortable at every size, in every context. The pairing with Lexend is function on top, warmth underneath.
