Raw industrial product design with zero decoration
Hardware product design companies that proved digital interfaces could look like assembly instructions. The industrial gray of machined aluminum surfaces translated to web backgrounds. Space Mono at hairline weight 100 where body text becomes structural scaffolding rather than reading material. The Bauhaus principle that function determines all aesthetic decisions, including the ones that look aesthetic.
Inter headings with Space Mono body creates a factory-floor aesthetic. Function dictates form. #E5E5E5 industrial gray background refuses to be beautiful. The honesty is the design. #0F0E12 near-black accent doubles as the only strong color, creating stark contrast hierarchy. 8px radius and subtle surface noise keep surfaces feeling machined, not polished. Darken hover effect is the most industrial interaction. No animation, no glow, just a state change.
Hardware product pages for synthesizers, audio gear, and electronics. Industrial design portfolios showcasing physical products. Brutalist web experiences where the grid itself is the design statement. Architecture firm sites where raw structure communicates values.
Your brand needs to feel welcoming. The raw industrial palette and mono body text are deliberately alienating to casual browsers. You need emotional warmth for consumer conversion. This system communicates through utility, not feeling. Your content requires long reading sessions. Space Mono body text at comfortable density fatigues on extended text.
One accent to break the silence.
Gray background (#E5E5E5). Not white. Not dark. The industrial middle. It's the color of brushed aluminum, of concrete floors, of the housing on a piece of equipment. The lighter surface (#F5F5F5) creates cards that feel like panels on a control unit.
Near-black accent (#0F0E12) means the interactive elements barely distinguish themselves from the text. Buttons are almost the same color as the words. That's not a mistake. It's the industrial design principle that form follows function to its logical extreme. White accent contrast means text on dark buttons pops like labels on a machine. No color. No warmth. Just utility.
That was the whole plan.
Modular treats decoration as a problem to be solved by removing it, leaving a grid that feels more honest than beautiful.
Turn your ideas into polished interfaces without burning weeks on design decisions.
Paired with Geist Mono.
Inter for headings at regular weight provides invisible structure. No drama. No personality in the heading. It's a label on a control panel. What matters is what the label identifies, not the label itself.
Space Mono for body text at weight 100 is the statement. Monospaced. Ultralight. It looks like technical documentation printed on a spec sheet. The thinness of the strokes at weight 100 creates a delicate, engineering-drawing quality. Combined with the 1.15 line height, body text reads as data, not prose. That's the whole point. Modular treats content as information, not narrative.
Pure signal.
Modular's reading experience is documentation as it was meant to be, nothing between you and the information.
Design tokens that give your product a point of view. Not just colors and fonts. Personality.
Modular's physical language.
Eight-pixel radius. Just enough to not feel dangerous. Industrial design rounds its edges for safety, not for aesthetics. The radius says "this won't cut you" and nothing more. Subtle surface noise adds the slightest texture. Like touching something manufactured. You feel the material.
Nothing added. Nothing owed.
On mobile, Modular doesn't compress, it reveals, every element exactly where it needs to be.
Everything you need, nothing you don't. Curated for people who care about details.
Modular's invisible layer.
No shadows. Industrial design doesn't create illusions of depth. Elements exist on a surface. They don't float above it. The ease-in motion and 0.97 active scale create interactions that feel mechanical. Press a button and it clicks. No bounce. No spring. Just response. Modular is the anti-animation system. Things move because they were activated, not because they want your attention.
111 design decisions that all agree with each other. Made for you to use in an instant.

Shipwreck turns your git push into a production deploy in 11 seconds. Zero config, infinite scale, and an interface that doesn’t look like a spreadsheet.
Trusted by teams at
Link your GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket in two clicks. We scan your tech stack instantly.
Our high-speed runners build your app in isolated containers. No cold starts, just speed.
Your app is pushed to 300+ edge locations globally. Sub-10ms latency for every user.
A dashboard built for developers who hate dashboards. No fluff, just the metrics that matter for your application health.
Shipwreck is the first platform that actually stays out of my way. It feels like I’m writing code directly to the browser.
The speed is actually offensive. I push a commit and before I can switch tabs, the preview link is already in Slack.
We migrated 400 microservices in a weekend. Our dev team might actually like me now. Highly recommended.
Start for free, grow until you’re a unicorn.
Absolutely not. We run our own bare-metal orchestration layer built specifically for high-frequency deployments. While we leverage cloud partners for edge nodes, the core engine is pure Shipwreck engineering.
11-second deploys. Automatic rollbacks. Zero YAML. Start free, no credit card.
