Dusty lavender surface (#9C8EB9) is theatrical without being Halloween. Oswald at heavy weight is the design equivalent of a curtain going up. Deep navy text and borders create depth and authority for a cultural institution. Nearly-flat corners (5px) signal craft and intentionality.
Arts and cultural organization websites. Theater and performing arts booking pages. Event venue and ticket sales pages. Nonprofit arts education platforms.
Your brand is bright, playful, or youth-coded without the cultural context. You need warm or earth-toned aesthetic. The purple + navy combination does not suit your visual identity.
One blue to break the silence.
White canvas for content sections. Dusty lavender feature surfaces (#9C8EB9) for brand moments and hero sections. Deep navy text (#002948) creates authority without coldness — it is blue enough to feel institutional and dark enough to feel serious. The dark teal accent (#184D60) is the action color: links, buttons, interactive elements.
The muted blue-teal provides secondary hierarchy. Every color in the system is muted enough to feel institutional but specific enough to feel branded. Nothing in Marquee is accidental.

Oswald at weight 700 with condensed proportions creates maximum heading impact. The tall, narrow letterforms make even short headings feel like marquee signage. The 1.5 heading line-height is unusual for condensed display — it creates generous spacing between headline lines, like proper typesetting rather than tight digital compressing.
Open Sans at weight 400 for body provides readable, neutral text that does not compete with the theatrical headings. The contrast between expressive Oswald and workhorse Open Sans is the typographic equivalent of a star performer and a reliable ensemble cast.
Designed for two audiences simultaneously.
Marquee's deep navy text and rounded pill CTAs work for the adult who buys the ticket and the child who sits in the seat — the warmth and the authority coexist without compromise.

Nearly sharp 5px radius on standard elements (just enough softness to avoid hard corners feeling harsh). Sharp 3px on small inputs. The 50px pill on CTAs provides the only round form in an otherwise rectilinear system. This shape language says "we set type carefully and we think about where things end."
