Breeze

Playful self-host platform with approachable energy

lightplayfuldeveloper

Born From

Warm yellow (#FCD34D) as the accent color of a hacker who chose joy as their aesthetic. The dark (#101010) that is self-hosted infrastructure at 3am, your own server, your own rules. 12px glass blur at 0.8 opacity as panels that feel provisional, hackable, not locked by a SaaS vendor. Dotted borders as the visual grammar of something still in progress, a project that welcomes contribution.

Why It Works

Warm yellow accent (#FCD34D) on dark background (#101010) creates playful developer-friendly energy. Dotted border style (from aiPromptShape) adds informal hackable character. 12px glass blur at 0.8 opacity creates modern frosted panel effects on dark surfaces. Glow hover effect makes interactive elements feel warm and inviting. 700 heading weight with -1.5px letter-spacing creates bold confident hero text.

Best For

Self-hosted platform landing pages with feature comparison tables. Open-source alternative product marketing pages. Developer hosting and deployment tool dashboards. Indie SaaS product launch pages with pricing and demo sections.

Skip This If

Your brand needs corporate professionalism. The yellow accent and dotted borders read as indie hacker not enterprise. You need high-contrast readability. The muted text (#A3A3A3) on dark background requires careful sizing for accessibility. Your product is finance or healthcare. The playful dark aesthetic with yellow glow lacks institutional gravitas.

Palette

Breeze starts in shadow.

Light finds its way through gold.

Dark gray (#101010) background. Slightly warmer than pure dark. The surface (#1A1A1A) adds a barely-lighter layer. Dark on darker. The white text at full brightness (#FFFFFF) creates maximum contrast. No muted whites. No gray text for primary content. Full white. Because on a dark background, anything less than full brightness makes text feel like a whisper.

The warm yellow accent (#FCD34D) is the entire personality. It's warm, it's friendly, it's impossible to miss against the dark canvas. The muted text (#A3A3A3) is a standard medium gray that recedes cleanly. The light gray borders (#E5E7EB) with dotted style create a sketch-like, work-in-progress quality that feels appropriate for a platform where you're building and deploying.

Getting something working should feel good.

Not like infrastructure configuration.

Breeze's warm yellow accent and dotted whiteboard borders create a deployment environment that makes self-hosting feel like a Saturday afternoon project, not a career pivot.

Typography

Geist at 700.

Paired with Geist.

Inter at weight 700 for headings with tight letter-spacing (-1.5px). Bold and compressed. The headings feel like section headers in a well-organized README. Strong enough to anchor dense technical content. At 16px base with a 1.25 type scale, the system keeps size jumps modest. No dramatic headlines. Just clear, bold structure.

Body text at regular weight (400) with 1.63 line height is generous. That extra breathing room between lines is critical for documentation on dark backgrounds. Dark mode text needs more leading than light mode text because the reversed contrast creates a different visual weight. Breeze accounts for that. The reading experience is comfortable even during long configuration sessions.

Read the docs. Actually enjoy it.

Warm darkness helps.

Breeze's generous body leading and warm yellow highlighting make configuration documentation the kind of thing you read completely instead of control-F-ing.

NEW RELEASE

Build something
people remember.

Design tokens that give your product a point of view. Not just colors and fonts. Personality.

Shape

Crisp radius. 1px borders.

Breeze's physical language.

4.8-pixel radius. Almost 5, not quite. That specificity comes directly from the source design system. Tight, functional, developer-appropriate. The dotted border style is the standout. Most systems use solid borders. Dotted borders feel provisional, editable, like whiteboard markers. They communicate that this is a workspace, not a finished product. You're building here.

Atmosphere

Smooth and comfortable.

Breeze's invisible layer.

No shadows. The glass effect (12px blur at 0.8 opacity) creates frosted overlays for dropdown menus and modal backgrounds. Against the dark canvas, that blur creates a beautiful depth-of-field effect. The glow hover effect adds warm luminosity to interactive elements. Combined with smooth motion speed, interactions feel deliberate and satisfying. The yellow accent bleeds slightly into hover states, creating moments of warm light in the dark interface.
