Stark dark minimal with high contrast typography
Email developer infrastructure where pure black became a design statement, not a default. The indigo accent that reads as sophisticated developer taste in a world of gray dark modes. Inter on #000000 where text feels pressed onto an infinite dark surface rather than printed on paper. Surface blur at 25px that creates the sense of cards hovering in dark space.
Inter at 400 weight on pure #000000 black creates a stark canvas where content floats in space. #5B5EE6 indigo accent on black is distinctive without being loud. It reads as refined developer taste. Glow hover effect on dark surfaces creates a phosphorescent screen-lit interaction model. #1A1A1A surface on #000000 background gives subtle card elevation through dark-on-dark contrast. 12px radius is the exact middle ground. Technical enough for developers, soft enough for marketing.
Developer email infrastructure platforms with API-first branding. Dark-mode SaaS dashboards for developer tools and services. Startup landing pages going for stark, confident minimalism. Developer API documentation with embedded code playgrounds.
Your brand needs warmth or approachability. Pure black backgrounds are the coldest possible starting point. You need strong visual hierarchy through shadows. Dark backgrounds eliminate shadow depth as a design tool. Your product serves industries where black backgrounds signal entertainment, not business (finance, healthcare, education).
Light finds its way through blue.
Pure black (#000000). Not dark gray. Not near-black. Black. That commitment matters because the glass surfaces and glow effects only work against true darkness. The surface (#1A1A1A) is barely lighter. Cards are dark panels floating in void.
The indigo accent (#5B5EE6) is sophisticated purple-blue. Not bright enough to be playful. Not dark enough to disappear. It exists in the exact frequency that reads as "premium technology." The soft variant at #282960 is nearly invisible. A whisper of color that defines boundaries in the darkness. This is a palette of restraint. One color, many opacities.
So is everything that breaks it.
Blackmail creates focus through elimination, the only things in the frame are the things that matter.
Turn your ideas into polished interfaces without burning weeks on design decisions.
Paired with Geist.
Inter for everything. Clean, geometric, invisible in the best way. The magic is in the details. At 1.714 type scale, headings are nearly twice the body size. Massive. The -0.96px letter-spacing on headings tightens them just enough to feel designed without feeling cramped. At 18px base size, body text is generous and readable against the black background.
A gradient text treatment (white to 50% white) on headings creates the illusion of text fading at the edges. Like words emerging from darkness. It's theatrical without being gimmicky. The text-to-background contrast is high enough for accessibility but softened by the gradient. Premium readability.
Because it did.
In Blackmail's reading environment, text against darkness has the weight of a statement, not a paragraph.
Blackmail's physical language.
Twelve-pixel radius. The sweet spot between sharp and soft on a dark canvas. Enough rounding to feel modern. Not enough to feel casual. The 25px surface blur creates glass panels that diffuse whatever sits behind them. In a dark system, that glass effect is subtle but crucial. It adds physical depth to what would otherwise be flat rectangles on black.
Even at pocket scale.
Blackmail's high-contrast identity doesn't compromise on mobile, it intensifies.
Blackmail's invisible layer.
Glow hover effects on a black canvas are Blackmail's signature. Elements don't cast shadows downward (shadows are invisible on black). They emit light. A subtle indigo glow radiates from interactive elements on hover. Combined with the 0.98 active scale and smooth easing, interactions feel like operating a high-end audio interface. Precise. Weighted. Considered. The lack of traditional shadows forces every other design decision to work harder. And it does.
111 design decisions that all agree with each other. Made for you to use in an instant.

Shipwreck turns your git push into a production deploy in 11 seconds. Zero config, infinite scale, and an interface that doesn’t look like a spreadsheet.
Trusted by teams at
Link your GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket in two clicks. We scan your tech stack instantly.
Our high-speed runners build your app in isolated containers. No cold starts, just speed.
Your app is pushed to 300+ edge locations globally. Sub-10ms latency for every user.
A dashboard built for developers who hate dashboards. No fluff, just the metrics that matter for your application health.
Shipwreck is the first platform that actually stays out of my way. It feels like I’m writing code directly to the browser.
The speed is actually offensive. I push a commit and before I can switch tabs, the preview link is already in Slack.
We migrated 400 microservices in a weekend. Our dev team might actually like me now. Highly recommended.
Start for free, grow until you’re a unicorn.
Absolutely not. We run our own bare-metal orchestration layer built specifically for high-frequency deployments. While we leverage cloud partners for edge nodes, the core engine is pure Shipwreck engineering.
11-second deploys. Automatic rollbacks. Zero YAML. Start free, no credit card.
